Concepts and Ideas

It all starts with passion. Either a love for a character such as Perry the Platypus generates a desire to build the Dude, or someone else suggests someone with so much adoration and passion that it becomes difficult to say no.

Currently there are two ideas bouncing around for prototype creation. First up is The Rocketeer, as suggested by a friend.

Personally I'm excited to see how the jet pack is done, and that helmet is just beautiful. I can't wait to see them Cubed up.

After the Rocketeer, we've got an idea for a single run to donate to a charity auction next fall: The A-team with their van.

All of this while trying to renovate the house and working our day jobs! I'll keep you posted on how progress is going on these two exciting new projects.

Prototypes on Display

If you want to vote on your favourite prototype, but find the pictures just don't do the Dudes justice and can't decide, head on down to Cherry Bomb Toys and ask to see the prototypes in person. They will be on display there.

And while you're there, don't forget to pick up tickets to the Victoria's Ultimate Hobby and Toy Fair being held April 1st. You just might be able to find some Cube Dudes there (and if not there will be bazillions of other great toys to buy).

And the Vote is On

Well, it looks as though Cthulu is off to a head start out of the gate, but there's still lots of time! Just tell us which is your favourite Cube Dude between the Phantom, Cthulu, and Ash by April 15th, and we'll build a limited run of them for sale!

Vote by commenting on the Previous Post and telling me which is your favourite!

Do you need to own Ash? Say so! Think the Phantom is too great to pass up? Tell me! Do you worship Cthulu? Don't be shy! You just might end up with the chance to own your favourite Cube Dude yet!

Time to Choose

So the Tick Cube Dudes are selling well, and so we've been encouraged to make a new series for sale. The problem is, which one? Bill has been building Cube Dudes for himself as a hobby for so long now, he has a a wide range of prototypes to choose from.

And so, he's narrowed it down to three: Which one do you want to see next in Cherry Bomb Toys?

The Phantom

Can't you just imagine a Vegas Version of the Phantom... all purple and sparkly? I mean come on! Who wouldn't want that!

Cthulu

Really, who DOESN'T need a Great Old One in paper form?

 Ash

Trapped in time, Surrounded by Evil, Low on Gas, and made out of Paper, yet somehow he'll still find a way to fight off all of the Deadites in your life.

So let us know which is YOUR favourite, and it might be the next Cube Dude available for sale! Vote by commenting below before April 15th 2012.

Please note that the photos in this post are of prototypes. Due to paper availability and the hand crafted nature of these items, variations in colours and slight placement of features WILL occur. I promise they will still look just as awesome though.

Oh, THERE you are Perry

We've recently become hooked on Disney'sPhineas and Ferb, and as with most things, it inspired Bill to see if he could make a Cube Dude out of it.

The natural character choice was of course Perry the Platypus.

When the Prototype Perry was built, it caused the first ever dispute over a Cube Dude design. And so, two prototypes were built, and I'm curious as to which is YOUR favourite?
